1-1/2" deep, 4" square welded junction boxes with flat vertical brackets and (4) 1/2" & (5) 1/2"-3/4" side knockouts and (3) 1/2" & (2) 3/4" bottom knockouts are used when 4” square boxes must be mounted directly to wood or metal studs. Square boxes are used to bring power to a number of electrical devices where multiple conductor runs are split in two or more directions.
