One gang square drawn offset device rings 5/8" raised for drywall are used to move a switch, outlet or plug to one side of the box away from obstacles present on the job, or for easier wiring access. They are commonly used on old boxes in walls that need offset device installation. They allow the installer to move devices “offset” in any direction.
